As part of McDonald’s on-going commitment to remove R22 from all of their estate, the decision was taken to replace all of the HVAC equipment at the large Burnley town centre site.
Askews were commissioned to remove four old R22 non inverter control Trane roof top air handling units and replaced them with the very latest Nordair Niche/Mitsubishi hybrid systems controlled by a full building management system.
The installation also comprised of numerous small individual split air-conditioning systems serving remote rooms where ducting wasn’t possible.
Due to the geographical location of this site a normal telescopic crane wasn’t feasible which is why a Spierings mobile folding crane was used (which had a 9 ton lifting weight on a 50m radius).
