We’re Sponsoring The First-Ever Burnley Colour Dash!

The Burnley Colour Dash is brand new event organised by the local Pendleside Hospice. The hospice is a registered charity that provides enhanced quality of life for people with life-limiting illnesses, and the Burnley Colour Dash is the latest of their fundraising initiatives. Obviously at Askews we think that’s a fantastic cause, which is why we’re very proud to sponsor it this coming weekend. It promises to be an amazing event, and it’s not too late to get involved!

A Little Bit About The Burnley Colour Dash

The first event of its kind in the area, the Burnley Colour Dash isn’t as scary as it sounds! To be clear, it’s not actually a race, but a family friendly event that’s a 5km run, jog or walk around Thompson’s Park (or Bank Hall) in Burnley. Participants will pass through various ‘Colour Blast’ stations at various points along the route, to be covered in a different colour of powdered paint at each one. Before and after the journey, between 10am to 4pm on the day, there’ll be various stalls in the surrounding area for both spectators and racers to browse. There are also fairground rides, face painting (in case you’re not covered in paint already), and even live music from some great local bands.

We should probably say – registrations for the dash itself have now closed, but you can register on the day for £30 per person. This covers your registration fee, and a donation to the hospice in lieu of sponsorship. So – you might be wondering – are Askews staff on the stalls or on the track? Well, the answer is: both!

Look Out For Askews Staff On The Day!

There are around thirty of us from Askews in total, with fifteen of us on the stall, and fifteen of us on the track. The more astute amongst you may have already noticed this is going to involve some of us throwing powder paint at our colleagues. We can’t wait!

We’re already armed with our green powder paint, and as you can see from the map, we’ve got one of the prime positions where the paint-stalls are concerned, at the top of the hill on the upper right side. We’ll be very well signposted, and you’ll definitely be able to recognise us by our Askews flags and banners. If you’re doing the Dash, be sure to wave at us as you pass!
